love your rock beat! so groovy!!
man u just show my something brand new…thanks teacher..i feel like i should have paid u for that one..
@drumteacher76 Once again, awesome Lesson Mike. Your response is the holy grail to this rudiment. In order to get close to your speed I am just doing quick wrist diddles on the floor tom (Right hand – no bounce). I was trying to get a good bounce of the Floor Tom, but it is not as tight as the snare. I can get a quick bounce of the snare because it is tight. For now, the RH diddle only on the FT gets me the speed and sounds pretty clean until I can get the diddle on the snare.
When you do the double beats (RR or LL) do you let the stick bounce for the second beat?
Nice job! I’m going to turn my students on to this diddle-diddle pattern. BRAVO!!
WOW you’re awesome man keep up the good work!
3:28 is nice, make a video about that.
ah man, you’re awsome, right that’s it i’m putting in much more basic time on me kit….
Yea mike is right a paradiddle -diddle is RLRRLL stop paying that teacher especially since he dont know the difference between a single paradiddle and paradiddle diddle lol .If you have any questions concerning a rudiment go to vicfirth.com under their education tab and they have all the rudiments listed with videos and audio files also you can go to pas.org which is the percussive arts society.And its all free so you dont have topay somebody to teach you wrong.peac e
your one of the best rudimental- clean drummers ive witnessed. and you speed it up to who knows what bpm, crazy man. im meeting my new drum teacher tuesday, if i dont like him im signing up!!
3:28
teach me how to do this an look awesome at the same time
the only two things i can say is “cool” and “pro”
Any suggestions on how to perfect the wrist action as seen 50 seconds into the video?
Great lesson Mike. Super clear and well explained, Ill be nabbing this lick for sure. Cheers mate.
I need to practice… -_-
the rythem at teh end remindes me of the dave mathews band
man i would love to have u as my drum teacher! were are u based?
If this cat doesn’t inspire you to play and get better @ your craft and or hobby nothing will!
Hey Mike! my man! i have always wondered who the drummer was for the band Simon says! my band and i used to do alot of covers from your album Jumpstart man back in 2002! You are so awesome man! and by the way, thanks for all these lessons man. since i started watching your videos, i improved dramatically!
anyway, Cheers man!
he makes it look so easy
pretty good
if only i was as good as you…
nahhh.. “para” is alternate sticking(RL or LR), while “diddle” is a double stick(RR or LL).. para(RL)diddle(RR)diddle(LL)..
a “para-para-diddle” would be RLRLRR which would be a “double paradiddle”
very useful
You must have practiced really hard to get those paradiddle diddles so tight, I am just a starting drummer and its really inspiring to see a professional such ah yourself play.
paraparadiddle = RLRLRR / LRLRLL
paradiddlediddle = RLRRLL / LRLLRR
